Thank you for your responses. It measured only .002 taper on it which is the same amount of taper on a regular nickel. The center of the adverse side. I hope I'm using the correct terminology the side that is not fully stamped. Is untouched and .100 left of center is also a untouched peace where the die made contact. And also you can see where partially the word Monticello is stamped. Ah! Denial is a long river right LOL

The reverse of your coin was effaced by mechanical grinding, that is the cause of the radiating lines.

I have one that looks like that.... 2015 D nickel....i don't know alot about coins but its weird that they look so similar, and have the same date......

When you can see the strike behind the damage, it has been damaged. The coin will be under weight.

 To the CCF Not an error, PMDJust another coin with the Reverse ground down. We seem to be seeing more of them lately.
