For fun I bought a small group of circulated Standing Liberty quarters including this well-worn Type 1. It's not a 1916 . . . rats. I can't be sure of the mint mark. I think it looks more like a D than S, but am not certain. Thoughts? Thanks. Old silver is fun. Paul Bulgerin

Uh, it's just a slick, so what does it matter?

I know it's a slick, but I am curious about the mint mark. I haven't owned a mint marked Type 1 before.

As there are no stars under the eagle, it is indeed Type 1, however, my eyes are not good enough to tell what MM you have.

It seems like "D" mint mark.

It's a moot point, since all you have is the equivalent of a slug.

looks like a "D" to me. You know somebody will pay a premium for it as a potential PO-1

Not for an SLQ, I think. There are many PO-1s out there. Dateless SLQs are available by the roll.

It doesn't matter that there's no date. If you can determine the date and mint mark from other design features, it's identifiable. PO1 1917 D Type 1.
