Before you toss them, look for the varieties. There are valuable ones for 1985, 1965, and 1953-55. Look around the Canadian section here for more info--good luck!

spetti2000, if you really want to get rid of them, and not go thru all that looking, checking, and asking, then I'll send you my address, ans pay the S&H! Dick

Your two best options would probably be: 1) save them for a while until you get a bunch of them, like 5 or more rolls. Then post them here in the B/S/T forums and hook up a fellow collector. 2) Start a Canadian collection like I did! Just through pulling them from boxes and pocket change, you'd be surprised how quickly you can build a set. Then, once they hook you, you can pick up most years at face value through trades or sales here on CCF. When it comes to collecting Elizabeth-era coins, its cheap, easy and fun!

I'm just as curious as you about Canadian coins....I'm ending up with quite a few too......some pretty old ones as well. Soon, I'm just going to go and buy some Canadian coin books.....hopefully there will be something out there similar to the RedBook. Most of the auctions I go to, there is little to no interest in them and you can get "batches" of them dirt cheap.....so it'd be nice to know which ones to "Cherrypick"!....or to find a "gem" in a $2.00 pile of foreign currency. Foreign coins including Canadian just aren't typically an eyebrow raiser for me, but since I'm ending up with quite a few over recent years......might as well figure out what I've got exactly !..

That's how I was too. Then I decided I was going to try and put together a V nickel set in high grade...which can be a tad expensive. So I said to myself "Self, why let all these Canadian coins lying around go to waste? Let's put them in an album!" Figured it would be cheap, easy and quick to build a Penny and Nickel set--and it pretty much was. But by then the good ol' addiction kicked in lol. Now I've got my pennies and nickels just about down (1953-2008) and, as we speak, I am putting all these dimes and quarters I have somehow picked up through trades and such into 2x2's and getting a binder ready for them And you know what? I love it! The darkside calls your name eaglefoot....
