Don't know much about these but the D looks big, and the reverse just looks off to me. Definitely not trusting NTC slab.

The D MM is correct in size. The rest of the coin looks reasonably authentic.

NTC is hit or miss, on these old slabs. In this case, a miss, the grade is closer to VF35 and probably details cleaned/rim damage reverse. A long way from AU.

It looks okay to me but since it's a $2000 coin if genuine I'd have to have a top tier slab. No way I'd trust "Numistrust"!

Here's a genuine PCGS XF45 for comparison.

I call them "Not This Coin" as in "there is a (grade) out there somewhere, but not this coin".

Thanks all. I have a lot to learn about gold coins. Can't really afford them, so don't know much about them. Interesting how someone would have it slabbed by a low tier company....probably to get the over-grade, and then suck someone into paying AU prices

The D only looks big because the coin is quite tiny at only 12.7 millimeters in diameter.

Very likely the coin has edge damage or other issues that would prevent a no-problem grade at a quality TPG. The seller is probably hoping they will get a higher price with the coin in a holder that does not say "details".
