Hi there. I've got quite a few non-mainland UK coins that I've collected from my change over the years, mainly pound coins, 20 pence coins and a 5 pence coin. The ones I have are from the Isle of Man, Gibraltar, Falklands, Jersey and Guernsey. As they're the normal coins you'll find in your change when you go these places, in terms of their value is there any point in me keeping them (as someone who lives in mainland Britain)? I'm saving up for a trip at the moment and if these aren't worth holding onto I'll put them into my savings jar. Thanks!

Hi Devonia33 and to the forum!

I always save these coins for my collection, but if I get duplicates I usually spend them. Funnily enough, I am visiting the Isle of Man soon, so will take my IOM duplicates with me. You may find someone willing to exchange them, if they collect world coins. There are a few rare dates that are worth saving: if you find an Isle of Man 1p or 2p coin dated 1972, 1973 or 1974, keep it! Only 1,000 of each date were made.
