1899 Newfoundland 20 cent G-4: 3$

1904 Newfoundland 50 cent G-4 stained: 7.50$

1917 Canada 50 cent vg-8 small scratch: 7.50$

1919 Canada 50 cent vg-10 stained possibly in a fire: 7.50$

I'd personally disagree with that statement on the 20 cent, but on the halves I would agree, and considering when I bought them I think paid just around melt give or take.

It's a no-lose scenario if you paid around melt if that is all that you want them for, but as collector coins there are better examples to be had with some patience. I'd be willing to bet that there are more than just a few of us that have some well-used near-melt coins in our possession....
