I just returned from a visit to Israel, and while there spent an afternoon in the antiquities section of The Israel Museum. The ancient coins display was actually pretty good, much better and more prominent than the ancient coins display at the Capitoline Museum in Rome.

Below are photos I took of the Bar Kochba display along with their descriptions. I don't know these coins. If anyone can provide descriptions I'll add them. Thanks.

(edited for descriptions - thanks BobL)

Israel is an amazing country, and the museum is one of the best I've ever visited. Highly recommend both to everyone.

Thanks for sharing. I lived in Jerusalem for a few years, but before I became interested in coins. Now I have one more reason that I need to return there.

Very impressive display. I am just starting to get interested in this coin type and just bought a copy of David Hendin's book Guide to biblical Coins, should arrive this week. At present I only have one prutah but hope to acquire more once I learn about them. Thank for posting this.

Thanks for this interesting post. How I wish I could have seen the displays.

Without getting into minute details, here's my best shot:

The first coin image shows the obverse and reverse of AR sela, year three (134/135 AD).

Second images shows AE middle bronzes, year one (132/133 AD), I believe.

Third image shows obverses of AR zuz, with the orderly placement of the letters of "Simon" suggesting year three (134/135 CE).

Fourth image shows an AR zuz (appears to be year three), another AR zuz (year two), and another (year three).

Fifth image shows an AR zuz with, interestingly, the Roman denarius undertype visible:
