I just returned from a visit to Israel, and while there spent an afternoon in the antiquities section of The Israel Museum. The ancient coins display was actually pretty good, much better and more prominent than the ancient coins display at the Capitoline Museum in Rome.

The Recepta is completely new to me. I wasn't aware such a coin existed.
Amazing coins! Such an interesting debate, is this one of those situation that had to be or not? Thus if the Jews had given in to what Rome was requesting of them, they may have stayed in place but who would they be today? So many groups have faded into other nations, countless really.
