It doesn't look real - date is too skinny among other things.

Looks to possibly be an old, light cleaning and retoned. The big question - why isn't it slabbed?

I too am suspicious. Also we need better pics, as they are quite unfocused and blurred. It's a coin flip essentially. But as others have mentioned, why isn't it slabbed, this is one of the major key dates in the Wheat cent series.

Why *should* it be slabbed? If/when I get mine, it won't be.

I would think focusing on how to verify it is real (something the TPGs will not yell you - its bad for their business to tell why they grade/assign what they do). It can even be fun looking into how to tell fakes and become better educated about them.

After all, nowadays people in the hobby are starting to think TPG slabs need a green sticker on them to verify the TPGs did the job right - sadly, its what the hobby is coming to.
