Normally token vs coin: token may not have a denomination, may not show the country it is from, may not have a date, may be not normal materials, and many other differences. Can we see an image?
I cannot vouch for the following info being correct, but I've seen the WERTH-MARKE tokens described as originating from mid-19th century up to the 1920s, with 1914-1920 being the high-point of their production and usage.
