Nice, I didn't know bronze dies were used on bronze planchets.

Wouldn't they have heated the planchets before striking to get better detail?

Very interesting. A lot of force was need to strike the smaller coins. It would take a tremendous amount of force to strike the large Ptolemaic coins. It is thought that some type of mechanical press was used to do that.
