My name is Rachelle and I am new to coin collecting. Right now I'm looking through pennies mostly but will graduate soon to other coins. I may pick up metal detecting this summer as well.
I've been using this site for awhile to refer to but haven't signed up until now.
I joined because I found a 2001 D Penny that appears to be a double die due to the separated corners on the numbers and letters. However, I have my doubts because the doubled imprint lays flatter on the coin and is only visible if the light is shining on it just right. Other double dies I've seen have more prominent doubling features.
Anyone out there that can help me with this? It's driving me crazy :)
