It spears to have just taken a hit on the top of the letters. Just post mint damage unfortunately.

If you found two coins that have the same mark, it might be die damage. Maybe a gouge of some sort.

Looks like coin damage on both coins. The damage is not the same on both coins. Just on that one device.
