1962 Proof Nickel - Reverse Letter Issue

I was wondering what is going on with the lower part of the left leg of the "N" in Unum on this coin. It appears to be thicker than the rest of the lettering.. would this be a die break within the lettering? Report this Post to the Staff

rmsexauer Valued Member United States 234 Posts	Posted 05/22/2017 5:32 pm Unfortunately I am even worse taking photos of proofs than I am at business strike photos .. but under direct examination there is no ding mark to this area.. it is a smooth transition from the thinner area to the larger area.. but the transition is abrupt which makes it look like a nick in my photos... hope the verbal description helps Report this Post to the Staff
