I've done some research and I think that this coin is from the Antioch mint, and has Valentinian 2 on the front. I think the letters say CONCORDIAAVGGG on the back. The back is rotated.

I have a few questions:

Do you think this is a real ancient coin?
Should I clean this coin?
If I should clean it, how?
What is the value of this coin?
Anything else you think I should know about this coin?

Thanks for any help you can give me!
I really appreciate it!

1.- Do you think this is a real ancient coin? YES
2.- Should I clean this coin? I think not, it´s a very beautiful coin
3.- If I should clean it, how? Mechanic cleaning to remove the dirt only, use bamboo stick to preserve the patina
4.- Anything I should know about this coin? about?

The coin is genuine and a very nice example. It's fine the way it is, but if you want to clean it a little you can soak it in olive oil for a week or so and than using a very soft toothbrush lightly brush the coin. These late Roman coin don't have much value to speak of. It is a nice example thou well struck.

@bob, what do you think about the 'desert patina'on this coin? Was it likely applied recently?

No way to know from a pic, but I think it might very well be natural. At least it doesn't have the highly saturated red-orange of "A" or the signature yellow of "Z." Nice looking coin, coin_obsessed.

Ok yep I guess I'm just getting more paranoid about this stuff. The patina really brings out the details of the portrait in a very pleasant way.

I think the patina is natural. That type of patina is common on coins from Antioch. It is type 15 on this site:

Yes, it is known as Syrian Red (of course Antioch is in Syria).

Here are my examples for comparison - all identifiable ones are Antioch mint...

This is an AE2 though, right? [Oh, AE3. Seems to be quite a wide flan though.] Very nice coin!
