At first I thought this coin had nice toning, but then I saw some posts about fake toning with an acid wash by counterfeiters. It kind of looked like this type of toning.

Any input would be great.

I do not worry in an absolute sense if an ancient coin is toned (patinated) or not; it all has to do with how the coin appeals to your own eye.

Almost all ancient coins are cleaned after recovery from burial, and they begin to re tone after that.

Ok thanks guys, I'm trying to figure out what I like best. More silver looking or a nice tone like this. Does toning add to the value of ancient coins at all? Does a shiny silver coin lose value?

It looks very nice to me. Toning is in the eye of the beholder. I tend to like toned ancient silver over a bright silver color, but that's just me.
