Not sure waht to say about the rev. rim above 'United' ... yes - scratches but I like it . XF45 pushing 50.

This is not the easiest coin to grade for sharpness because the dies were out of alignment when it was stuck. The upper half of coin looks like an EF while the bottom half looks like an AU. This situation is not unusual for early 19th century U.S. coins.

Having said that the coin has EF-45 sharpness, but it's a "details grade" coin because of the scratches on the obverse and probably an old cleaning. Still the 1805 Half Cent is a better date despite that fact that this the most common of the four 1805 die varieties.
