I"m pretty certain that this is a 1882 VAM 1D3

It has the metal in the 82, the die chips in both, the die scratch next to the B in Liberty, the raised metal near the M on the obverse, it also appears there is a clashed S in the VEE Etc-

I also found what looks like a die clash and just below it, a die chip and just below that, another die clash - on the obverse by the lower portion of the Phrygian Cap- just above the curls.
Please check out the pics and opinions welcomed.

Looks like a pretty good match to me. I can't see the clashed s, but that could be due to lighting or post-mint wear. The other clashes are small enough not to be mentioned, it is expected for them to be there. They are just some of those unmentionables. Good eye. Nice pics.

P.S. amac is right. Pics of the whole coin are very helpful. Sometimes close-up pics are hard to decipher, if you have a pic of the whole coin it's easier to put the pieces together. Your close-ups are great though.

Here are 4 pics- 2 obv and 2 rev- looking at this without magnification doesn't show much at all- - just using my little 5X Bausch & Lomb hand held lens shows most of the details and then I zeroed in with the 15X and 20X microscope lenses for confirmation with the info at VAM World.

Nice pics, and they are helpful. There are some strong clashes in other areas. I would check the clash marks by the neck to see if there is a clashed n, they can be very faint, but important. On the reverse I would look between the tail feathers and the left side of the bottom of the wreath to see if there is a clashed E. Whenever I see strong clashes I always check all the areas where letter transfer may occur, it may not be there, but I would hate to miss it if it was.

It's always good practice to include full obverse and reverse pics with your post. Someone may pick up on something that otherwise may have been overlooked. It's always better to have two sets of eyes looking for something than one.
