Hello Everyone,

I am looking for suggestions/ideas on what is the best way to package straps of notes in order to ship them safely. I have seen that there are solid plastic cases for sale on ebay for $20 that will encase an entire strap but I am looking for something a little more cost friendly. Currently my thoughts are to put a layer of tissue paper around the strap and then cut out 2 rectangles of cardboard to sandwich the strap. I am looking to prevent any ink smudges and of course any type of bent corners/edges. If anyone has any experience with shipping these or has any other ideas, they would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Your solution is a good one. Make the cardboard pieces larger on all sides and then tape the edges together all round. Works perfectly with 1 note or a strap.

Do you think it would be safe to put this package arrangement in a padded envelope for shipping or should I stick to putting them in a small box? I don't put it past the USPS to fold padded envelopes in order to cram them into a mail box. I know it has happened at my house.. padded envelopes folded and crammed in the mail box.. boxes crammed in and left hanging half way out of the box.

I'd find a box a bit larger than the size of the strap pack so that way it can also be padded around the perimeter with bubble wrap to prevent shifting. The cardboard box also offers a bit more protection as well.

Flat fee shipping from USPS (small box) seems like it would be the best bet for this.... along with your packing ideas.
Rest in Peace

Use the cardboard from USPS envelope mailers...thin enough but enough stiffness. I use these inside small bubble wrap mailers to give added protection Work great for odd size foreign bills as well. Besides, it's free...
