I've got a support ticket in on it.

It must be because we went secure. Hopefully there's a solution.

The one we had is done. Will not work on a secure site.

Same company has a standalone version which I have, looks pretty good. It will even do multiple images at once.

However it's a good bit of work to integrate into the site. I'll be working on it today but I don't know if it will be done today.

I also just successfully optimized an image over 10 MB down to 252 KB and it looks very nice. Changed it from 5400 pixels wide to 1000 with 75% compression....

Image-Optimizer-Busted---Update:-Replaced-With-A-Better-One.

I think it will be worth the wait.

That's really unfortunate - I really liked the CCF image optimizer, even when I didn't plan to post the result on CCF, because it doubled as a convenient photo cropper.

Would the new version be able to deal with large photo sizes (e.g. over 2000 pixels)? In the old version, at least one of the dimensions had to be 2000 pixels or below to apply any changes (which sucked when the photo needed a lot of cropping to be usable).
Also, would it still be possible to download the resulting file even if it is larger than the image upload size limit of CCF?

...Come to think of it, back when the whole "secure site" thing was proposed, I saw everyone except the OP, including a few staff members, explaining various reasons why it shouldn't be done. Why, exactly, was it done anyway again?
I think I must have missed that argument...

Because Google controls the internet and they said eventually they would stop sending us visitors if we didn't.

The new one also updates on the fly when you change something.

Give it a try before I go live with it.

OK, I made changes to a photo (1000 pixels). Do I just right click and save? When I do that it only allows the file to be saved as either a PNG or a BMP. Also, when I resize the photo it shows its size to be 188.5 KB, but when I try to upload the resized photo it says that it is over 300 KB. Once saved, the image is actually 552 KB.

I don't understand how this is supposed to work.

Click on Display Save or Save Image(s) (I just reworded it) and a green download arrow will appear next to the thumbnail up top.

I did that, Bobby. When I click on the green arrow it seems to get stuck on saving the optimized file.
