Hi all, saw that my LCS has this for sell and wanted to get some opinions on it. The coloring looks funny but he has it as details (makes sense) and that there was repairing on the coin up by the head on the obv. and the "ONE" on the reverse. Details look ok grade-wise but wanted to see what others have to say about how it looks and what an approx. value may be. Was just there during lunch so wouldn't be able to get better pics as of right now. Thanks for any opinions!

I guess I was more asking about the supposed damage, repair (and worth based on that) and authenticity of the coin. Thank you for the info though! And welcome to the forum since it seems it hasn't been too long since joining! :)

It looks authentic to me and assuming it is with AU details it's a $500 coin or thereabouts.

Yeah my dealer mentioned a name of someone who repairs coins and that the "color" looked like his "work".. I will have to ask and see who that person was again because it seems like this is a well-known "repairer"(?) and his repairing work still looks really nice for the asking price.. I can live with details as long as they aren't distracting and details are still good. Am seriously considering it and finishing my first page in my 7070 seeing as people are ok with the look of it authenticity-wise.

EF-40. Looks cleaned in the first two pics but not in the third.

EF-45 details, looks like some graffiti was removed and the coin cleaned. No signs that it was holed then plugged but it is not a very desirable coin in this state. I would avoid this one if I were you.

Well the price was really good considering the feedback I had gotten. I went ahead and bought it since my misfit 7070 has cleaned/details/damaged coins in it already. I was able to get this coin for $120. At that price though I would think there would be a bit of damage. I will take closer pics tonight. Thanks for the feedback all!

The price was too good for me to pass up and he had a sticker price of $150 but I buy a lot of stuff there so he had it down for $120. And with some other coins I bought with it I can sell for profit to bring the price down to approx. $100 for it.
