I found this one in a FaceBook auction and smiled "bigly" when I looked through the reverse toning. It's on the way now and I can't wait to get it in hand. Opinions on whether it's a 1C2 or 1C3. I seem to see stuff going on below the eagle's tail feathers and the right wing tip does appear to have something going on. Dave700X: I know you love these so what's your opinion on it?

1C2 but one heck of a find! Any 1C2 in upper AU and above is quite a treat ;) The reverse color is just icing on the cake!

Dave does have the only 1C2 LDS I have ever seen though... the early developing stage of 1C3. You say you see something going on beneath the wing tip that I cannot see. Maybe Dave can see what I cannot and give you LDS designation. Either way, awesome find!

Wow! Nice score Charlie! I see something going on above the right wing but not below so I'm thinking it's a 1C2. My 1C2 LDS has more die sink below the wing than above and the reason for my opinion. I'm looking forward to your images.

I know see a little something above the wing, but the money is below. I say send that lady off to get graded unless there are problems. In front of the neck looks unusually market up, and a scratch or two on OBV, but still might grade. More than one '83-O connoisseur here if you happen to want to part with that colorful lady ;) Again, great eye and nice find!

Here's an image of my 1C2 for reference. It's a bit small as I downsized it to use for my avatar on another site.

What we see above the wing on this coin does not match up with your photo Dave. Likely a photo thing... doesn't seem like it is a VAM-1C2 LDS. A 1C2 is a 1C2 though - they are all cool ;)

I agree, Nate. the blip above the wing appears to be a photo anomaly and this pretty girl is a 1C2 (not LDS).

I agree, looks more like AU. Didn't see the cleaned part coming either!

In hand it appears XF. Significant wear not evident in original photos. The "cleaning" is more whizzing... Lots of hairlines under low magnification indicative of a wire brush. I'll post some pics later... PG
