May I suggest adding this pic to the original topic then deleting this topic?

We don't really need two separate topics in this case.

I don't know what to make of the filled mint mark. It is either a great find or a great hoax.
If it were mine, I would check to see if it had been filled with jeweler's silver.
See if the position matched any known variants.
Do a photo overlay to see if it is the right size.
A good close up might help, but I suspect a hoax. A die isn't likely to break in such a perfect manner.

What makes you think hoax chute? There are a few 84o with filled mm's I believe but this one does look "completely" filled. I'll give you that.

OP, please cut it out of the Littleton cello and take clear full pics of obverse and reverse and we can probably nail down the VAM for you.
Rest in Peace

This listing is posted as an example. As CoinFrog posted, we'll need to see good images of the obverse and reverse. http://www.vamworld.com/1884-O+VAM-39

This was my post on one of the other threads you started on this coin.

But that link you sent me is great that helps me a lot. Those are some very detailed photos and I would like to look more into it when I have some time I appreciate your help

Chris, the mint mark appears domed. To fill an "O" mint mark requires the die have a portion broken off. Hardened dies seldom break so perfectly. I could be wrong, but that is my first take. Next step is a closer look.

Check VAM-39 as it comes with filled mm most of the time.
