Good point. Nor posts about the literature itself, although literary sources are sometimes mentioned in posts about coins. Spence, I've noticed, mentions literary sources frequently. As do others.
Of course the old adage is something like "Buy the book before the coin." Good advice for anyone looking to delve into an ancient or medieval coin series. And Charles Davis is an excellent, reliable source for titles. (I admit, though, that I sometimes struggle with the idea of spending my available money on a reference book when it could be spent on a coin I may have been eyeing for awhile)
Web info is great, but perusing a webpage is just not the same as flipping through a big 'ol book on ancient coins. One of the longtime members of our local ancient coin club just passed recently. We would often have meetings at his numismatic library in downtown St. Louis through the years. It's an amazing collection with literally thousands of numismatics books. It was always a treat to spend time in the library prior to the start of the evening's meeting. I don't know what the family will be doing with all those great old books...
