Interesting! I haven't really been tracking it, but it seems to me that most of the woodies posted on CCF are copper coins rather than clad.

Might be roller lines. A "woodie" is from improper alloy mix in copper cents.

I think it may be roller lines. It's difficult to say with a clad coin.

However, I've seen nickels that appear to be "woodies" and that's an alloy. The cladding on this dime is the same CuNi alloy used to make nickels so, it could be a woodie but, on only side because it's clad.

The very linear look of it, though, makes me think roller lines.

Wait, so pennies that look like that (woodies) are caused by an improper mix of the metals? Are they worth anything?
