2000 Dime Struck On Foreign Planchet

Switzerland1515 New Member Canada 33 Posts	Posted 06/15/2017 2:59 pm Pretty popular occurrence in Canadian money as we produced money for dozens of countries. First find like this, never seen a dime like this. My first thought was fake but I guess it happens. I got it from a bank hunting so it would be pretty funny if it was fake, but I doubt it. Compared with another 2000 dime in pictures and compared even to all my older dimes, I've never seen a rim like this and a thickness difference. Report this Post to the Staff

Please try using the image optimizer to crop your pics for a closer image, we would like to assess your coin not your phone. The rims just don't seem right for it to be a "struck on foreign planchet" We need better pics please. Is the reeded edge the same all around? What is the diameter of the coin? No need to compare with a normal dime, that just prevents us from getting a close up of the subject piece. We know what a normal dime looks like. Waiting for weight too.
