Cents in 1943 were steel, so it would look like silver and stick to a magnet. Depending on condition, maybe a dollar or two to a collector. So we can give a better estimate on value, can you post pictures of the coin?
Try to post the coins in their proper sections, US coin in a US section, UK coins in the UK section, and so on. Then the coin pictures should catch the attention of experts in that area.
Yea, it is hard to give a good assessment without pix, but you can try. Like the '43 steelies, made out of zinc coated steel, because the copper was used to make bullets for WW2. If the thin zinc coating is worn off, coin becomes gray, no shine at all and possibly is rusted(steel). These aren't really worth much in that condition. Some of these have been "reprocessed" with a new coating, these are real shiny and reflective. To collectors, they are "altered, damaged" coins and worth nothing. Yea, maybe TMI, huh?
