Thoughts on grade and problems? Thanks. Agree AU-50. Even assuming the color is not representative, it may have been cleaned. Could you try again to capture the true color?

I would bump it up to au-53 but it looks cleaned. Any toning has been wiped and removed.

Looks AU, but the surfaces look odd. It seems there is some microporosity from verdigris that has since been cleaned off. Black is also indicative of a cleaning. There is no luster. Unless this coin is under $50, I would pass.

This is one of Kevin's coins.
There is some minor porosity on both sides, but nothing severe or unexpected. I agree with his comments that the coin has possibly been darkened or recolored and has patches of light porosity, but is otherwise attractive.

Hi, I noticed that some dealers in Allen and other places in TX are selling large numbers of large cents including many varieties of early large cents. Is some large TX collection being sold off?

Frisco Mint, here in North Texas is one of the largest EAC dealers online and in-person. Chris Victor-McCawley in Austin is another large EAC dealer. Inde Et Lib (Kevin) and Frisco Mint (Lucas) do a LOT of volume on ebay and elsewhere. In both cases their inventories are exceptional and deep.
