Don't worry about FS, it's a negative.

You would think I know how to grade these but I am a terrible grader. I will take my best guess and say MS64. Not full steps.

Those round spots may detract from that looking it over a second time but it easily makes MS63 all day. I'll stick with MS64 but think it just makes it.
Rest in Peace

Hoping those circles are on pix as outlines not on coin! Is a solid 63 if not 64, those dots may come off with xylene, don't think acetone is the trick, those look to be copper spotting from the alloy. (why these nickels turn gray)

Thanks for the input. I'm not very good at grading the "vintage design" Jeffersons either.

Unfortunately those circles are on the coin. It's like the coin is pointing out its own problems! There's a very small dark dot in the center of each circle.

I was wondering how to approach that before placing in said album. I have acetone, Verdi-Care and MS70 on hand. Acetone first for sure. I may have to get some xylene as well. I'm just beginning to experiment with MS70 so, that's out of the question here.

Hey spruett001, that nickel is a little older than me and I have gotten spots too over the years.
No big deal. If you took a close up of me, like we have here of the nickel, I would look just awful.
I think those circles are sort of a toning barrier of the tiny little carbon spots that created them.
Your nickel and I are just fine as we are.
Acetone won't hurt and might make them disappear, I don't know how to use xylene and MS70.
As for myself, I haven't used Neutrogena either.

MS-62, maybe MS-63 because of the marks near the top of the reverse.

I'm happy with any of those grades, really, for one going in the album. Thanks for the comments everyone!

I'll try acetone on those spots but, that's all. When looking at Photograde, I saw this and it made me feel more comfy with them:
