The copper is showing through on the front and the back. Is this normal or is it an error?

There have been reports of copper "bleeding thru" the clad layers when subjected to the right temperatures and conditions, like being buried in acidic soil or in hot areas around chemicals. You have to interrogate that coin as to its whereabouts!
