Ok this is unusual to me here we have an original not replated and it's a very thick plating super brilliant with an orange peel texture with scratches under the surface and one hit above left of "one" is this a kind of proof ? From Denver ?

Could it be one of the special satin finish coins?

Did you find this in circulation, CRH or something else?

If it was a proof it would have an S mint mark . I'm thinking it came from a mint set .

If it is a Mint Set coin, it would have been struck on a 3.1g copper planchet.

How do you know it's not replated?

Looks like a good BU example. Not a proof as it is not a 'S' mint. Sometimes they get it just right when they are struck. Probably not from a mint set. I've found better examples in OBW rolls, rather than mint sets. (The OBW rolls are handled as much as the mint sets)

I'm sticking with the satin finish idea. Is there a way to tell for sure from the photos?

No, but the weight would be definitive.

Weird finish if it was a mint set coin. I have seen this finish plenty though on Zincolns being plating bubbles.
