I only have one, at 1798 Large Cent, one of the more affordable 18th century U.S. coins to be had in lower grades. OP: You might want to create anonymous polls for these types of questions. I can see why some may be hesitant in answering. Quote: They are very popular. The problem is that most of us can't afford the ones we'd like to own. This 1000%. I'd love to own many too but unfortunately my budget doesn't allow such luxuries.

Quote:I have a rare Jefferson nickel that was made in 1738 What is the Mint Mark on that one? As to to how many I have in the 1700's, don't know. Never counted them. Not sure but I think I have some US coins from the 1500's.

I have one that's BU. I can't remember the date or the design or the denomination but it's got the word "Copy" stamped into it. You'd think I'd remember more specific details about a really cool coin like that, wouldn't you...?

You mean, like, dated 1793-1799? Before that there ain't none "US" coins. Or do you mean coins that circulated in the territories that became the US having a date indicating that they were made in the 1700's? Or do you mean coins minted in the 1700's in a territory that eventually became the United States? Does Puerto Rico count?

Quote: You mean, like, dated 1793-1799? Before that there ain't none "US" coins. There was one, the Fugio cent. Not struck by the US Mint, but it was struck under contract for the US government. True the government under the Articles of Confederation, but still the US government. Oh, and I just added two more.

British and Colonial Spanish coins of the 1700's are a legitimate part of pre Independence coinage heritage, and, as such, should be legitimately collected.
