So, I am finishing up a my Presidential dollar set (using a CAPS Album).

There are spaces in it for the 2015 and 2016 "Reverse Proofs", but I haven't collected any of these yet.. Still looking for good deals on them.

Recently, I saw this listing on ebay for a "Presidential Golden $1 Type Set Box":

http://www.ebay.com/itm/PDS-Preside...112459272822

And when I click on the button in the ebay auction that says "See full item description", this is the page I get:

http://vi.vipr.ebaydesc.com/ws/eBay...&cspheader=1

But it lists the following coins as being in the box for this auction:

Martin Van Buren
John Tyler
James K Polk
John Quincy Adams
Andrew Jackson
James Monroe
William Henry Harrison

Now, what I am confused about, is that I didn't think any of the above coins had Reverse Proofs made for them?

I thought the only Reverse Proofs were the 7 for:
Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Reagan, Nixon, Ford

But the auction above seems to indicate that there are reverse proofs for different coins..

Am I misunderstanding this auction, or missing something entirely here..(entirely possible for a newbie like me).

Thanks!

Michael

There are only 5 reverse proof Presidential dollars:

Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Reagan

They are part of the Coin and Chronicles sets.

Here is a listing for the first 9 sets....

http://www.ebay.com/itm/US-Mint-Coi...AOSwhvFZC6qV

Then the last issue concluded the set which was the Reagan issue with the ASE proof and is not listed above.

The fine print on the Certificate of Authenticity answers your question. This is a product of "First Commemorative Mint": "This guarantees that your collection contains genuine legal tender currency struck by the United States Mint. It has been enhanced by a patented technology." (Emphasis mine, and many of us in this forum would refer to it as Post Mint Damage.)

Correct.

I have all five sets, but have no intention of breaking them apart.
