I first bought a copy of the ANA Grading Standards, which is also published by Whitman in the spiral-bound format. For that volume, the pages were glossy and strong. As above, I also don't have another copy to compare it to but I'd say it lighter than a typical book. Suppose they use lighter paper to keep costs down but I'm happy with mine none the less.
