Perhaps most already know this, but I thought I would point something out vis-a-vis gold bullion purchase.
My go to dealer for precious metal purchases is
APMEX. I've used them many times in the past and I've found the transactions quick and easy, customer service is helpful, and if they don't have the very best prices they are close enough to where it doesn't matter.
Here's a quirk I've noticed with
APMEX in the past and present in regard to their prices in gold and silver. Their website prices are different from their prices on
ebay. Sometimes the
ebay prices are better, and sometimes the website prices are better. This holds for both gold and silver. A good example exists right now. At present (July 9th) the spot price of gold is $1,212.82. On the website they will sell you a single 1 ounce American Gold Eagle (2017 dated) for $1,284.69 if you pay cash, or wire the money. If you pay via credit card or PayPal it's going to be $1,338.22. However, right now they're offering the same one ounce gold eagle on
ebay for $1,249.69, and there's no penalty for using PayPal. I've seen this same disparity in the past with regard to Silver Eagles. The lesson here is always check both sites.
