I read that one was certified that weighed 11.41 //Is it worth getting certified//i have a 67 that weighs 11.41 it reads the same as the 71 when I do sg test

I see copper above the T in LIBERTY and it has had some circulation. On the other hand, might be nice to know because you'll sit and look at it until you die. wondering.

I don't know. It's your $40 - or so.

What does the edge look like?

yes sir /if I go by the edge I would spend it is the specific gravity test reliable it is the hillbilly version (said with pride)

Show us a picture of the edge. If it's copper it can't be 40% silver as they were minted from alloy composition and were a solid silver color.

Specific gravity is conclusive. Weight is not because the copper nickel and 40% silver weights have a HUGE overlap due to mint tolerances. (clad can weigh 10.9 - 11.79 grams, and 40% silver can weigh 11.1 - 11.9 grams. So a coin that weighs between 11.1 to 11.79 grams could be either one.)

Until they get some circulation of handling, then the edge can darken and the clad layers then show up clearly as well.
