I am fairly new. Have some investment quarters and am posting some odd D's from 64 Wash. Quarters. Interested in your thoughts. Thanks Rich

thanks for the input Beefer. But not sure how that helps me identifying these D's. I didn't see any in that link.

sorry Beefer, your second post helps. I missed it was also from you. Do you thing the D's that I have imaged are doubled? They seem so based on the link you sent. Thanks

Wish I was better with these. In hand can you make out similar slide movement or direction in other devices say maybe "QUARTER DOLLAR"? Thanks, Doug.

Sorry Doug not familiar with slide or other devices. Can you clarify or is there a place to research those?
Thanks

The Glossary has device as - Quote: device Any specific design element. Often refers to the principal design element, such as the head of Miss Liberty. So if the MM is impacted in such a way, wondering about other lettering or what one might would call other devices and if any are showing anything similar. Thanks, Doug. Adding: Devices are elements that are present in the field. Can be raised or incused.

Hi Doug, nothing really stands out on the other devices. If that is so, would these be post mint marks? Thanks again. Rich PS I can post the obv and rev if you like.

Your pictures show Machine Doubling. You can tell because all the lettering has the same smeared-like shelf doubling as the mintmark. I have many 1964-D quarters and a decent amount of them have this Machine Doubling problem. For the 1964-D, there are only two mintmark varieties to look out for: The RPM that faces east (not worth a lot), and this: This completely separated RPM goes for $1,000+ even in circulated condition. This FS-502 variety is the one to be on the lookout for.
