I have recently started a US minted World coin set. I have got a few over the past week. This is the 1st one to hit my mail box.

1941 Philadelphia minted.
Another-US-Minted-Silver-World-Coin.

My 1st Netherlands East Indies coin as well.

Just wanted to show it off...Mont.

BTW is there a "Post Your New World Coins" type thread for these?

Rest in Peace

MontCollector probably already knows about U.S. minted Australian coins, but for the rest of us within the CCF who would like to know:

For Australia
Florin: 1942S, 43S 44S,
Shilling: 1942S, 43S and 44S,
Sixpence: 1942S and D, 43S and D, 44S,
Threepence: 1942S and D, 43S and D, 44S.

ALL were minted in .925 sterling silver, 16 coins for a complete set.

For Fiji:
Florin: 1942S and 1943S
Shilling: 1942S and 1943S
Sixpence: 1942S and 1943S.
ALL were minted in .900 silver.
It is interesting to note that all of the Fijiian silver pre decimal coinage was in .500 silver only with the exception of the U.S. minted coins mentioned above.
9 coins for a complete set.

For Netherlands East Indies:
1/10 gulden: 1941P and S, 1942S, 1945P and S. There are 5 variations in positioning of the P mintmark
1/4 Gulden: 1941 P and S, 1942S, 1945S
1 Gulden: 1943D,
2 1/2 Gulden: 1943D.
10 coins for a complete set, with mintmark varieties in addition.

A complete set for all countries above comprises 35 coins with mintmark varieties in addition to that.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Others in the CCF may be able to contribute to the above information for other countries that the U.S. Mint hay have struck coins.
I am curious to find out myself !

Yup I currently have a 1943D Three Pence from Australia and have several other Australian coins coming in.

Here is the 1943D (Denver) Threepence I already had

Another-US-Minted-Silver-World-Coin.

For those interested, here is a list from PCGS of US minted World Coins. Over 1000 of them.

I don't think I will ever get them all.

Try to look for a 1943 Dutch cent. It's yellow-ish, not regular bronze colored. It's minted in the US by orders of the Dutch government in exile (not sure, I thought Philadelphia mint, but I have to look it up). They're pretty rare nowadays, as they never made it to The Netherlands during the War (where the Nazis had their own zinc coins put in circulation). They were put in use in some of the Dutch colonies, though, like nowadays Suriname.

I have considered starting one, but have been too lazy!

Why dontcha get one fired up?! I have plenty to contribute.

E: also stupendous coin! I have heard that the Mint workers for these East Indes types were attempting to recreate the coin from scratch, (they didn't get the original dies) and bungled the language! Can anyone confirm this?

Is there a list? I think it would be fun to do like DL20K's "unusual denominations" thread and have the list at the start of each page, with new acquisitions marked off.
