Hey guys I'm terribly new to coins in general. But I did find this Wheat penny today at work! Can anyone tell me if this is an error or if it has just been dented. It is a 1958 D Wheat penny. Sorry for the bad quality pictures but any insight would be appreciated.

doesn't appear to be an error. Looks like someone hit the cent with a metal tube or a punch. PMD

Looks like a large nail counter sink punch held at a 45 degree angle.
