Philppines One Peso Victory Overprint

Idacostya Valued Member United States 129 Posts	Posted 07/16/2017 12:01 am I acquired this one peso amongst a bunch of foreign paper money, but I know nothing of this. Can someone fill me in on some information of this bill and why the overprint "VICTORY"? Is this similar to the American "HAWAII" overprint note? Report this Post to the Staff

lettow Pillar of the Community United States 742 Posts	Posted 07/18/2017 4:13 pm The Victory Series of Philippine Pesos replaced all previously issued notes including the pre-war Commonwealth peso notes. When the Victory Series was issued all previous issues, Philippine government and Japanese Military notes, were declared invalid. Report this Post to the Staff

In the same lot of bills I also received a similar Philippine one peso note only this one has a red seal and is a series 1929.
