I purchased this one for $45. Seller advertised as "broadstruck." In reality, I think it's a misaligned die.

Nonetheless, what do you guys think it'll grade? Potential problem spots include the reddish coloration in certain areas, and the number 8 in the date.

At least around the bust, I think that red is the last remains of some luster. Xf40-45?

A solid EF, probably a 40. Very few contact marks. It appears that the red remaining in the close confines of the detail elements is a natural red, still remaining.

On the high points that are lighter, that is probably cabinet friction rather than a return to circulation after the coin had toned to brown.

I like this coin and I like the cost you paid. Congratulations on a nice addition to your collection.

I'm at vf 35. I think the obverse is better than that and very sharp but the leaves in the reverse wreath are flat and have no detail. That holds it back to high vf for me.

EF-40 but I disagree with the others and think this coin was lightly cleaned and is retoning. It's got a mottled appearance of an old cleaning and the red on the rims is not original mint luster or friction. Still a nice looking coin.

obverse is much sharper than reverse. I am thinking vf 35 or so if you average both sides.
