Great token. MS 60.
Charlton separates this series into four primary groupings of which Courteau identifies some 22 different varieties.
This is Charlton's LC-9B2 grouping identified as having a Strong ground,No period after CANADA. This grouping encompasses Courteau 13-13h. (to wit: 13, 13a, 13b, 13c, 13d, 13e, 13f, 13g, and 13h.
Courteau's next area of concern is completeness of the Rim (above the DIA in CONCORDIA}. Is the outer rim broken or complete. Your token is of the broken rim grouping. Of this grouping, the broken rim is found on 13,13a, 13c, 13e, 13f, 13g, and 13f. The remainder have perfect rims. Now which of these can we eliminate...
Another area of interest concerns the Shamrock Sprig. Are the Stems (below the 3 clover leaves) complete or broken. Your token shews broken stems. Of this grouping, broken stems are found on 13, 13h.

Don't know these well enough to evaluate specifically, but clearly high grade and most attractive.

Courteau quotes:
C 13. Obv. The lash-end is short, thin and almost straight. The right ceriph of V is of medium size. Perfect S in BAS; upright X in DEUX.
Rev. Rim of garter broken at the top. The Shamrock sprig under side leaves disconnected from main stem. R. 6.
C 13H. Obv. The end of lash is lacking. The letter X in DEUX slants to the right - slanting X variety. The bottom of D in CANADA is double-cut. From perfect and broken dies. The crack is from border to the field through D in DEUX.
Rev. Same as 13. R. 2. ------- From the photos, This is as far as I am comfortable to go without closer examination. And, akin to Courteau's work on the St. Georges and other serieses, many observations are vague, nevertheless, his work is currently the most extensive there is. Case in point. On variety 13, Courteau makes special note of the size of the ceriph of the V in PROVINCE, but makes no reference to the same on variety 13H. Does this imply that 13H is otherwise, or did Courtau merely forego the mention of the same. What is the difference betwixt 'end of lash is lacking' and 'short, thin and almost straight.' What is required is to compare a 'proven' ensample (such as one with the Die-Crack to the D in DEUX)and compare the cerips of the V. At present, I do not have independent notes on this series. And my reference ensamples are at the BANK.
Someday I will tackle these as I have done on the St. Georges.
