Hi I have this quarter and its either an error or an 1889 please help

@amy, ok thanks for posting the pic. I know that others will weigh in on your coin, but it looks to me like the date has taken a hit during normal use and perhaps some of the metal in that nine has been moved around. It does not look like a mint error to me.
