Do you think the Susanna Blunt rendition of the Queen will be the last portrait of the Queen used? I am not really a fan of that design. Honestly I didn't care for the previous portrait used. But I did like the 2 previous to that one. When the time comes, how soon will Prince Charles appear should he not abdicate?

I am sure that Prince Charles would appear on coins within a few months.

First he has to be crowned king, this could take several months there would be a whole design work up and then approval process. I don't think it would be much less than a year.

I think that the Maklouf bust is the best design.

Next January 1st is the obvious answer (which is part of why Edward VIII never got a portrait - his reign didn't cross a year boundary), but if that happens to be very soon, there probably will indeed be a several-month approval period.

I wonder if there will be coins with dots or maple leaves after dates again...

(I suspect he'd take the name George VII, by the way.)

I like this one.
United Kingdom: sapphire jubilee of HM Queen Elizabeth II celebrated on new crown coins.
