Hello All!
I recently came into possession of an 1879 Russian Ruble. I did some research into the coin and found that one had sold in 2014 for 16,000CHF in Zurich at the Sincona Auction House. I know very little about coin collecting so I was wondering if the members of this forum might be able to give me more information about the coin, its history, whether it is indeed valuable, or whether there are any specialists I might contact who may know more.
Please find below pictures of the coin, as well as links to the archives of the Sicona Auction House and where I got the information from in the first place. The coin was lot 855 of sale 19, October 2014. One has to scroll down a bit but the record is there.
At this stage, I am really after information so any help in this regard would be highly appreciated.
