I thought this was a cool coin: Sorry about the bad photos, I am in the process of buying a new camera!

One thing is for sure..... whomever counter stamped it had no idea that it was a 3-legged Buffalo nickel! I once owned a 1909-SVDB cent that had a hole drilled in the field right in front of Abe's nose. People do crazy stuff!

Nice Cud on the reverse. Edit: My apologies about calling that a Cud on the reverse. I see my mistake and I now know for the next coin

Quote:Nice Cud on the reverse. I'm thinking that suspected Cud's actually PMD. It looks to me like the nickel was put in a vice; this, possibly to be stamped? E .... S .... Enigmatic Stamp

What a shame. Still a cool keeper, though! That's definitely not a Cud. Note the distortion of the letters that have been pushed inward.

I wonder what the "S" and the "E" mean? That is a super cool coin!

I'm not convinced it's a 3 legger.

Quote: I'm not convinced it's a 3 legger. Tell me your concern. The coin does not have a leg (although it might seem that it does in my washed out photos), the reverse leg it moth-eaten, and the E and P in E Pluribus Unum are not touching the bisons back.

Maybe it is the exposure of the image but the back leg doesn't look as "motheaten" as it should, and I am not seeing the heavy die wear on the indians neck.
