Another Lincoln taken from the dealer stashed album. An absolute rainbow of colors! I had to have it after I looked at it.

Thad,
Beautiful color, but I gotta tellya I'd be just a bit suspicious based on these photos. High points on Abe's cheek, jaw, and coat and (to a lesser degree) the kernels on the wheat heads look like they've seen a bit of rub. I have to wonder if some artistic AT (artificial toning) had been applied to conceal evidence of light wear.

Or, maybe it's a spectacularly toned original BU with a slightly mushy strike. I'm curious to read the opinions of other forum members.

Bad, you have to stop using those colored filters on the camera.

Jab - All these nicely toned coins I've posted came out of an old collectors Danco. There's no AT involved, I actually have a few that look like this. Like Kurt said, this is tone that happens to Lincolns on rare occassion. You should have seen the other coins in this album....they were incredible. If he still has it, I'm going to go back next month and buy a target toned Lincoln in there that's mind blowing.

Also, there's no rub anywhere. This series is known for worn and erroded dies. Many collectors go for better struck AU coins because the MS ones are always a bit mushy.
