I've noticed on coin auction houses listing 1966 Proof sets listed as 1st and 2nd Release or 1st case of issue or 2nd case of issue

Which cases do these refer to?

Was the Dark Blue case the 1st case of issue or was it the light blue case?

Thanks in advance

Some of the '66 proof sets were supplied in wood boxes, some were supplied in jewelry style metal cases. Both were covered in blue leatherette.
