Hi, I've inherited a large collection of 2004 notes, was wondering if they are worth much over the face value? All of them were straight from the bank during the 2000s and stored since then so they are in perfect condition...
Thanks

you may also want to go to the cdnpapermoney.com web site and look at their Serial number data base and see if any are replacement notes which command a bit of a premium.

wow a sizable collection for sure..my condolences, for what ever reason you received them...if they are un circulated and in sequence, then there is definitely a premium for them.. how much depends on who you sell them to. Do some research on the prefixes to see if any command extra premium, then go from there.

Long story short you would be better off selling them a few at a time, the more you sell at once, usually the less you get..

Thanks for the resources. I looked through the coinsandcanada link and none of those prefixes appear to be worth a premium. Looking at the grading, I would say they are in between choice and gem uncirculated condition. I'm not sure where to sell, aside from ebay... Would placing some of the consecutive ones on ebay for about 30% over face value be a good idea? I'm not sure how to approach selling the large consecutive notes like the 36 or 47 consecutive serials too

I think it would tough to get much beyond face value return for thee notes. Keep in mind that when you're listing on ebay you have to give up 10%+- in fees and then someone will have to pay 10-15 in shipping. From experience, high denomination and/or high value notes in sequence are difficult to sell.
