1995-Washington-Quarter:-What-Kind-Of-Mistake-Is-This?

What would this mistake be called, a shadow? There are two of them, one closest to Washington and another along the edge.
Rest in Peace

The pic is a little blurry. Can you try to get a clearer pic and a pic of the reverse. There may be clues on the other side that we need to see.

To me, it looks like a stain or someone burned it with fire a little bit. Just a good guess.

to CCF. Looks like some kind of acidic liquid was on it. PSD maybe environmental damage.

When they press the coins do they use heat? I looked up acid damage and PMD, this was done with the same tool they use to press them, I tried circling parts of the face that is in the shadow that match the face of the coin. If it is done by heat I can guess the tool they use to make the coins hovered over the coin longer I. A different spot?

Heat is not involved in the striking of coins, your coin is just stained.

Thanks for posting better pics. Sometimes stains and circulation damage can look like an error. No harm in asking us. We like to look at coins.

Keep hunting. You're bound to find something good someday.
